Experiments Journal
This is the list of the experiments that I've undertaken. Needless to say I hope this list will grow over time.
#1 - Making distilled water
#2 - Checking the quality of the water

Making distilled water is, in theory, rather simpler. You do need to right equipment (make or buy) and even then, you need to be aware of some basic chemistry.
I also undertook a small experiment to try and determin the quality of my distilled water, but all was not as expected.

#3 - Making a 1M Hydrochloric Acid bench solution from stock HCl
When performing experiments, it's important that the chemicals you use are of a known concentration. Here, I'll explain how to make a standard 1M Hydrochloric Acid solution from some purchased concentrated HCl. This technique will work for other bench acids as well.
#4 - Creating Ethanol from alcohol

Ethanol is a rather useful substance to have around the lab, but it seems to be getting difficult (and expensive) to obtain in the UK; so I decided to make my own.
#5 - Nitrile gloves and concentrated acid

I decided to sww what the affects of concentrated acid would be, on the Nitrile material used in the gloves I use in the lab.
