To get started in chemistry there are just some things you have to have and one of these is a set of weighing scales. There are a fair number of electronic scales available on Ebay that are quite good value for money. The set I bought were quite cheap and to be honest, I didn’t expect much but when they arrived and I inserted a couple of AAA batteries they worked rather well.
A good test is to measure the weight of three different items, make a note of their weight, and repeat. The scales should also have a Zero option (tare the display). This allows you to place a beaker on the scales, zero the display, and then weigh in chemicals.
The scales I bought managed to read to + / - 0.01g for each measurement. That’s not bad for a piece of kit that cost virtually nothing; it only took two weeks to arrive from foreign lands. They only go to 100g which is not much, but considering what they cost, they will do for now.
